Did you upload an image the correct Twitter header size, 1500 x 500 pixels, and find that it didn’t work? Have you got a blurry Twitter header image?

How to fix a blurry Twitter header.

In Twitter, the only edit options are to zoom in and then reposition after zooming in, cutting off even more of your image. So you can’t fix it.

I did quite a bit of reading and came up with the following easiest ways to optimize your Twitter header image – 5 quick fixes.

5 Tips to optimize your Twitter header.

5 Easy Ways to Fix your Blurry Twitter Header Image

  1. Start with the largest image possible.
  2. Save your image in the highest quality possible.
  3. Save as .png instead of a .jpg.
  4. If you need to enlarge any objects in your image, do it in the Twitter interface after you upload the image, not in your photo editor. (But first – since Twitter will enlarge your image and cut off the edges when you upload it – we’ll have to make your entire image bigger. If doesn’t make any sense, read the tutorial how to make a Twitter Header Image.)
  5. Add white space around your image. This gives you a nice clean look. (Or, add some other type of background in a wide border around your main image.) For step by step directions, see my tutorial.
