Making your own Christmas wreath is the only way to get it exactly how you want it! Check out these great ideas for easy DIY wreaths to decorate outdoors and in.
I love to look at all the beautiful Christmas wreaths in the stores. But my favorites are often out of my budget or not the right colors. Solution? Make my own!
When I couldn’t find the perfect wreaths to go with the candy theme I was using to decorate my kitchen for Christmas, I decided to make them myself. My daughters and I had great fun making these Peppermint Wreaths. An added benefit? They’ve been long lasting. We’ve been able to use them over and over for years. As well as them being easy decor when I reuse them, it reminds us of fun times watching Christmas movies while making them!
When I have something I want to make, I find it helpful to look to other crafting and decorating bloggers for tips, ideas, and instructions. Looking at their ideas helps me come up with new ones!
Read on to see some of my favorite tutorials for easy DIY Christmas wreaths! In this list, you’ll find how to make wreaths for outdoors and in – everything from your front door to your kitchen.
Some of the wreaths are made with fresh greenery. I so wish they would survive a Texas Christmas season on my front door! But it gets too warm in Central Texas, so wreaths made with artificial greenery are a safer bet.
There’s something about tinsel that’s really nostalgic to me. I’m not sure if it’s growing up in the 70’s or looking back at the 50’s. But there are a couple of wreaths in this DIY list that have tinsel!
Some crafters are really creative with inexpensive items they use to make their wreaths. How about cotton balls and puzzle pieces? I wish I’d thought of that!
Some of my favorite wreaths use fabric and ribbons to decorate the wreaths. If your front porch is protected, they’ll still work for your front door. But they’d also be great Christmas decorating inside! There’s the kitchen, of course. But how about your kids’ bedroom doors?
I love to decorate my kitchen at Christmas so I can enjoy the decorations while baking Christmas goodies. Gingerbread and peppermints! Here’s where the “12+” comes in, because the 13th is my own idea for Easy DIY Peppermint Wreaths.

I tried the wire hanger and threaded christmas baubles on it, used about 100 and fell apart when i took to off the door in the new year #keepingitreal

How frustrating! Thanks for the warning. I’m thinking what you’re talking about is closest to the DIY WIRE HANGER CHRISTMAS WREATH FROM JENNA KATE AT HOME – which is fresh greens and so only meant to be used one year. But I wonder if she did something differently that would help? Stringing Christmas bobbles on a hanger to make a wreath sound like a genius idea! I wonder if something could be done to help keep them on?

Hi, I’m not crafty enough to be making our own wreath & the peppermint one would not last a festive season without mysterious gaps appearing!
Thank you for sharing it at #keepingitreal.
